NanawatzinQuestions about quests and mod events
Thank you for understanding! I hope SotSC will also make your future BG1EE runs fun and enjoyable!
Hi Lava, some questions.

1) Shadows Below the Friendly Arm Inn - what are the conditions to trigger this quest?
2) Kobolds Dream Too - you previously mentioned to ask at the FAI - whom to ask?

I'm in Chapter 5, playing mostly CE / murder hobo style / low CHA, but try different approaches to quests before "committing".

So I raised my Rep to 16 via donations, and made a companion with 25 CHA party leader. But Bentley still only gives his "Sorry, cheap stuff is out." line.
Err, okay, and while writing this, I accidentally talked to Bentley *with* the 25 CHA NPC, and all of a sudden I actually get *options*.

So, forget my previous questions, but is this intended?

I generally prefer a consistent approach in the game (and might also get fooled from inconsistent approaches already present in the base game Angry ), and the way merchants react to the party leaders CHA instead of the one initaiting the dialog is so core to the gameplay experience for me that deviating from this mechanic feels very counter-intuitive and alien (IWD style vs. BG style, if both games actually were committed to consistency).

EDIT:
Turns out I can save some money. Talking to Bentley with 5 Rep and a 25 CHA companion also gives me the quest options, whithout the need of that companion being party leader.

You should ask the Friendsly Arm Inn owner, ask him about work or something like that.

The quest starts on the Bridge to Baldur's Gate area, near the lower right corner of the map. Well, slightly up from that point. It is THEN that you should get back to FAI and talk to the owner about him.

As for the lack of options when you are playing a murderous bastard: well... don't be surprised people don't want to work with you...

Cheers
About the golem brain : I found it, is there something which can be done with it, except placing it in the golem so that he can crush us to pulp ? I thought maybe someone could fix it, but I didn't find anyone. At least sell it ? Nobody seems to want it. So I don't know what to do with that, probably drop it somewhere... !
Nope, that's just an encounter for those that like unfair challenges like that. If you are not interested in those, then you may just ignore it Smile

Ok, thanks, well I know this kind of golem from the mod to build golems for spell casters and I know how hard it is, I wouldn't even think about fighting this in bg1, and even have it as an ally would unbalance the game a lot !
But I thought some expert could find something to do with the brain, like Thalantyr... oh well, too bad !
I recently installed several of your mods for the first time: SotSC and Athkatlan Grounds. I am early in BG1 and have come across Warebadgers and Warebears. Are those from SotSC? They don't seem related to a specific quest. Anyhow, they were unexpected and quite a step from normal enemies found in CH1/2. They pack quite a punch and are hard to hit.
They are not placed in any strategic place so just circle them until you are actually ready to face them. It's not like you MUST face them now. They are there to make wilderness challenging and make you more careful.
Hi, the poison from the snakes put the disease icon instead of poisoned, and can't be cure either by slow poison or cure disease. Is there a way to cure it ?

Also, I was thinking it could be fun to be able to
use the ring of the beggar instead of a ring of the prince with the Ormyrrs and have them really angry
.

I will take a look at the snake, but I may need a moment.

As for new content -- the mention ring stuff -- I am not planning on expanding the existing content, sorry Smile
So I battled through many Basilisks and a Goth to get to the Tree of Shades, but I can't find any information or got no prompts on what to do with the tree. Any hints?
You can talk to it, there is a clickable circle right below it. You may offer it memories (XP) to get new items. If you are not interested in such trade, you may just ignore it.

Content is already huge, this mod really improves BGEE.
Thanks! BTW, I fixed the snake thing a few days ago Smile It should work better now.

That's great !

I was also wondering if the crossbow of fate was supposed to only have 1 APR ? The thing making me wondering is the fact the item description specifically said it only have one APR, but all crossbows have only one APR.
