Cool, I'm glad you could check stuff yourself while I was away. BTW, I think that check was there for a reason: I think that his quest (slime stuff) was supposed to be completed first, and there is some check being made in the first "district" of the City of Baldur's Gate. If he joins later, and you have already visited other parts of the city, you would be able to "skip" and avoid entering that area. Keep that in mind when adjusting stuff for your own purposes
