As for the Lady: yes, there is a peaceful way of solving this.
The idea was also to try and finish some stuff on latter runs, so even if you did not find everything, did not complete all the quests, perhaps you'll succeed when you start a new game, with different party members
it's not like you need to find every single thing in just one run
