Wow, this area really gives you that vacation vibe.
Well, instead of lounging under a beach umbrella on Alabaster Beach, my HC prefers to accept quests from the people here
Here I realized I was still on version 1.9.2, and poor little Mister O. Possom died when I entered his tent—and I was so looking forward to having a screaming contest with him... Strange, I mean, I thought I’d spoken to him normally in this version too... I’ll check it out again with a different character, because I know I’ve never had that happen before
I thought it was well done in the Alabaster Sands mod that Waukeen's Promenade already encourages you to visit the area.
Advancing the romance between the noblewoman Shenee Lovelypox and the fishmonger Glaven was a nice quest to get started in the area.
And here I found plenty to do:
After the welcoming shouting contest with Mister O Possum, I got the amulet for him—it was nice to get a little cross-mod reference to Mr. Ratte here. I had actually almost overlooked that when I first played the Bridges Block mod!
I also felt my inner child come out when I was digging in the sand for the lost bell.
The quest involving the artist Tym Barwiaz is a very interesting one. Especially because the idea of grinding gemstones into powder to make paint was truly a new experience for me! I also really enjoyed the rest of the quest.
I came across a very peculiar character in one of the tents—a chicken lover. I decided to be polite and immediately offered to help him find a protector for his “ladies.”
My favorite quest is the one involving the copper siren Salissy—it’s always nice to meet a non-hostile siren. And, of course, a paladin like me would never refuse to help a lady in distress.
After some guesswork, I finally figured out which house Salissy was talking about—it took me a while to catch on.
After both the thief and the nasty ogre mage got what they deserved, I took the other two pearls along with Salissy’s. As powerful and useful as the Copper Pearl was... I resisted the temptation to keep it and returned it to its owner—after all, I had promised her...
The other two pearls—the Hellish Pearl and the Death Pearl—are very pretty items... they also remind me a lot of the crystal magic from Risen 1—as a constant helper of the Inquisition in Risen, the Hellish Pearl immediately made me think of the Fire Crystal...
That’s why I found it such a shame that both pearls can only be used once and are actually far too precious to actually use.
So far, there hasn’t been a way to have a mage or blacksmith work on them with other components so that both—or at least a selected pearl like the Copper Pearl—have a limited number of uses per day?

Even if that is *slightly* in character.

I actually wanted to add these one-time items, a little advantage for the very beginning of the game (because I believe most people will do these quests very early), and that's all.

I experimented a bit and discovered that it's caused by the General group component from Kaelyn's ZSTWEAKS mod. I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly which subcomponent yet... but that's where the problem lies.
I'll post this on G3 as soon as possible

Oh, that's too bad. Thanks, now I know I didn't miss anything.
That's right, I also find these two mods really helpful when the TDD mod is installed—I'm currently testing a revised version of the original 1.14 for BGT and BG2EE/EET.

Hi, Kaelyn here. It is indeed caused by the component that overhauls stats. I make constitution penalties start earlier and slightly more harshly. This is why it dies upon spawning, because it has 3 Constitution and 3 HP, losing its health. A simple fix is to edit the creature in NearInfinity so it has 4 HP instead. Or increase Constitution to say, 6.
In any case, my next version of the mod will patch creatures that would die after the changes so it never happens again. Sorry about the inconvenience.
