Southern Edge - What books does Neil need? - gigaveter - 11-27-2024
After solving the book parasite problem in Southern Edge, my squad greeted Neil and offered to give him any books for a reward, but when I try to talk to him I have no way to give him anything, only a question like "What will you do with the books?" and the statement "I have no books for you". But there were books, I even put extra ones from the bottomless bag into the inventory.
Game version: old Baldur's Gate 2: SoA/ToB v26498

He accepts only unique books that are from the vanilla game -- for example quest items you no longer need, like Marella's journal, etc.
It was a horrible idea of mine that's stupid because he won't notice mod-added items and I am not going to add new lines and expand dialogue each time a new such item is introduced... so... you can give him some of the vanilla books, but you can as well just ignore that part of the mod, I think it's not the best of my ideas...

Ah, I had a hunch about that! It's good that this isn't another result of my abuse of the old game.
It's a shame I won't be able to get rich by selling him a bunch of extra books.

You can still bring him unique vanilla books and you can get rewards for giving them to him, but just don't expect that part to work flawlessly
